The modern mind is bombarded with information from the electronic as well the print media . it creates problems as there is little time to digest it . in the past , there was less information and more time to assimilate it , so there were silent spaces in peoples minds . peace reigned all around . but , today the lifestyle has changed 180 degrees much of the information remains undigested . it is like constantly eatind and stuffing your body , and , that which can not be digested by the body can be poisonous. A healthy person is one which takes 50 percent of his time to assimilate his experiences . 50 percent action and 50 percent inaction- this is the right balance and a cure for todays man. Meditation is the dire need of contemporary humanity . but what exactly is meditation? It is nothing but a time when you can relax from within , a state of closure of your senses to the outside stimulus . you are alone in your innermost being- relaxed. In these moments , all that was accumulated gets assimilated and the worthless is thrown out . meditation functions like a double edged aword , it assimilates all that is nourishing , and throws out all that is junk. But who has the time to meditate ? Today , people have too many things to worry about , to take care of and find that the day is not long enough
