SATTVA YOGA: Koshas (5 layers of body and health)


Anand Mehrotra discusses the wisdom and pseudo–wisdom body koshas. In yoga the koshas are described in 5 parts: Annamayakosha (physical body), Pranamayakosha (energetic), Mannamayakosha (thought), Gyanamayakosha (wisdom) and Anandamayakosha (bliss) bodies. Anand discusses the “A-gyananamayakosha” The body that is above thought, but below wisdom. A bulk of humanity falls struggle to this body that looks like wisdom because it is not animalistic in its nature, but is still not wisdom because of the latent fear and conditioned thought patterns that are present.
