Are all meditation techniques the same?
www.tm.org Dr Robert Schneider explains how Transcendental Meditation has been shown to be twice as effective as other meditation techniques. Dr Schneider The question has arisen about whether all meditation techniques and stress reduction techniques are the same or different. This hypothesis has been tested in several different studies including several meta analyses or studies of all the published studies and these comparative studies agree that different meditation techniques produce different effects. For example bio feedback may have a localized effect of changing blood flow to the finger but that’s a lot different to than restoring the bodies holistic self repair and healing mechanisms. Research has shown that the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique is on average twice as effective as in reducing anxiety and changing and reducing physiological correlates of stress which are at the basis of the bodies healing responses and at the basis of prevention of disease and the promotion of health. Thus the Transcendental Meditation technique a medical perspective and empirical research is significantly more effective than other meditation techniques which have been studied and published in preventing disease and promoting health. Transcendental Meditation and it’s advanced mediation techniques have been taught in the world for decades and there have been many hundreds of research studies performed on the techniques to show the wide ranging benefits of meditation.
