What would happen if you uploaded your mind into a computer?

We exist as human beings. We have bodies, minds, and a theoretical life force that most people call a “soul.” Our bodies would be easy (or at least possible) to emulate as a robot or other machine capable of carrying out the same functions as a human brain. And if, sometime in the future, we can copy the data that make up our minds into this system, and then our bodies eventually died, would our consciousness go to the “next life” with our “soul” or would we actually be living through this computer? Something like this transition seems highly improbable, because you can’t “live” through two entities at once, for example, if you copied your mind to a computer, and your body was still alive, you would still perceive the world through the body, not through the computer. Or would you be like a clone, and there would be two of you, and the path of your life splits to become two? I may have just answered my question but I wanted to see what people thought on this.
