A new version of the liar’s paradox is cute:
“The idea that illusions exist is an illusion itself.”, but no answer!
This is a metaphysics and epistemology Q; please, only serious Answers.
The topic of what are *illusions is so central to philosophy, that I can point to almost every philosopher that ever lived having discussed it, eg Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Kant, etcetera. Psychologists have studied the 1st-order kind of illusions generated by the way our nervous system processes stimuli, but philsophers are focused on the 2nd-order kind we generate by imagination, dreams, and cognitive processing of our perceptions and memories.
ILLusions are a fact of reality
