Does anyone know the name of this book bout a boy who has seizures and is trapped in his mind?

My teacher in 8th grade read a fictional book about a boy who is trapped in his own body/mind an has grand mal seizures its from the boys view. There’s a second book that’s from the brothers point of view. The authors son who has seizures is who inspired him to write if i remember correctly.
