Buddha says-Devil is the creator,controller & destroyer of body , mind, emotions etc. then Who am I ?
Buddha says that nothing belongs to you.
Body is not yours , devil created it.
Similarly emotions,feelings, intellect, awareness, mind, intelligence all were created by the devil , the god of death, distress & disease & also of wealth, pleasure & sex.
The world is a minefield where temptations are laid at every step.
The very purpose of creating the instrument called body (with mind etc.) is to give us sorrow the ultimate truth & end of life.
Buddha preaches that since nothing belongs to us , we should not call any of it as ours (me , mine & myself are all fictitious) . So he asked us to renounce & forgo the attachment & clinging to – me, mine & myself in order to achieve enlightenment, salvation & nirvana.
But then the question arises who am I ? (in light of above)
Noota – All the matter has been condensed from sutras. Be assured.
Bluelotus – Jesus is another Buddha. Jesus says – “One who tries to save himself will die and the one who dies for the righteousness & truth, will live for eternity.” Therefore Jesus is asking us to leave behind the attachment to our own self and not caring for death for the sake of righteousness. Remember the ‘Eternal Life’ preached by Jesus is exactly same as nirvana taught by Buddha. And remember that when Jesus searched for truth & fasted for 40 days in desert , it was devil who appeared to him in order to tempt him , very similar to Buddha who also found devil just prior to his enlightenment so both are same.
lexi m – I am not lying nor kidding. I have read ALL the sutras ‘s condensed version in hindi language published by Vippassana Research Institute called – ‘SUTTA SAR’. What buddha calls Mara (the god of death, disease, distress , wealth & sex) is what I translate to Devil & Satan in English.
