What are the different styles of yoga and what do they focus on?

I know there is a type for weight loss and such, and I was wondering what are all of the different styles of yoga and what do they do for the body?

All I know when it comes to terminology is hatha, and I’m not even sure what that does lol. I don’t know the terms so if someone could explain those too I’d appreciate it.

I’m really interested to know if any type of yoga can give outer (as well as inner) strength and stamina. If there is such a thing could you please tell me more?

body – mind – disconnected?

Ok, reposting because I got a bunch of rude/weird answers (idk why some people think I should shave my head & stuff like that??? And I’m NOT on drugs)

Every once in a while I suddenly find myself just observing my body – moving and talking..
but it’s weird, because then I realize I’m just watching everything happen – I’m not actually consciously talking or moving…
Kind of like watching a movie – or another person… Only I’m sitting right in my head – and looking trough my eyes?
Sometimes I see my reflection and it takes me a few seconds to realize that it’s actually *me*
It really freaks me out whenever it happens – whatever you’d call it…
I can usually snap out of it after I realize it’s happening again

What IS this?

I googled some stuff and the thing that sounds similar to what I’m experiencing is something called Depersonalization disorder “(DPD) is a dissociative disorder in which the sufferer is affected by persistent or recurrent feelings of depersonalization and/or derealization. The symptoms include a sense of automation, going through the motions of life but not experiencing it, feeling as though one is in a movie, feeling as though one is in a dream, feeling a disconnection from one’s body; out-of-body experience, a detachment from one’s body, environment and difficulty relating oneself to reality.”

Never heard of it before though… but it would explain a lot of the stuff that I’ve been experiencing…

Differences of the mind, body and soul?

People say “Body, Mind and Soul”. Can you define what the mind is and what the soul is as you understand it?

Can you define what the mind is and what the soul is as you understand it? And is there a difference between the mind and the soul.

My mind is tired but my body refuses to let me sleep what do I do?

My mind is tired and I can barely hold conversations but at night when I try to go to bed my body gets a surge of energy. It feels like my body wants to go run a mile when I know I need to go to sleep. What do I do? Is there a solution to this that doesn’t require medication?

Can certain recreational team sports almost be like meditation or actually be meditative?

I notice that once you get “in the zone” you feel similar to meditation. For example in basketball.

At what age are you old, in body and mind?

I’m a firm believer in being young much longer in mind than body. But what age mainly do you think people look old?
